- How do I make a call?
- Power your phone on (press the
red key or No key), wait for "My Network" to show on the
display, dial the number (including the area code), then
press
or Call key (or the green handset icon or Yes key).
- Keep in mind that there is no
dial tone with cellular service.
- How do I make an international
call? What are the rates?
- To dial from the U.S. to another
country, dial 011 + the country code you are calling to +
the area code + the phone number, then press
.
- How do I use my phone outside the
U.S.?
- Outside the U.S., your phone will
work in parts of North America (Canada, Mexico, Puerto
Rico, etc.), and you will be charged a roaming rate.
Because other countries are not governed by the FCC, rates
in other countries will vary. The minimum cost is 79 cents
per minute, plus additional long-distance charges. We
recommend using your cellular phone outside the U.S. only
in the case of an emergency.
- Can I use my phone while I am on
a cruise?
- Cruise ships often provide a
private cellular network that allows you to make calls
from your cellular phone while traveling aboard ship.
Longdistance.com will bill cellular usage while aboard a
cruise ship at the rate determined by the cruise line.
Because these networks are owned and operated by the
cruise line, rates may vary. Please ask what rate the
cruise line charges before using your cellular phone.
- What do "roaming" and "long
distance" mean?
- "Roaming" refers to where you
physically are when placing a call, and "long distance"
refers to the area code you are calling.
- Roaming. On
Longdistance.com Plans, no roaming rates are charged
anywhere in the U.S. However, if you travel outside the
U.S., you will be charged a roaming rate for calls you
make or receive on your cellular phone. Roaming is
billed at a higher per-minute rate but will not use any
of your plan's free minutes.
- Long distance.
On Longdistance.com Plans, you are not billed for
long-distance calls made or received within the U.S. to
or from a U.S. phone number. The only time you will be
billed long-distance charges is if you are calling a
number outside the U.S. You may also incur a
long-distance charge if you are traveling outside the
U.S. and make or receive calls on your cellular phone.
